was in the area, i'm not a local and do not fit in with the city or the "crowd". only stopped for the lunch buffet because i know someone who is a Cowart and thought she'd get a kick out of a pic. there were actually not a lot of choices and it seemed kind of basic and not really visually appealing. that said, the green beans and corn was super tender, the okra was on point, the spaghetti was strangely good, fried fish was ok. i didn't have the chicken and didn't want to fill up on that. the cobbler was kind of a weird runny texture i didn't love. i had two plates and was uncomfortably stuffed and it's a lot of food for the price. the service was haphazard with everyone running around and it took a bit to get cashed out, but they were all nice about it and paying attention even though it seemed like nobody was paying attention. honestly, i would have rated the food a 3 and probably not come back. but here's the weirdest part. i had a craving for this place 2 days later super randomly. and resisted and then a week later, craved this place again. of all places. that does not happen for me. so yeah, i've bumped it up to 4 stars and may revise if i get to try other menu items.

We drove from Savannah on a Sunday morning after church. It was like taking a step back k into Mayberry. The restaurant is in a historic home. They didn't renivate much. LOL! That's part the charm, though. It's a buffet that costs a little less than 15 bucks with tax and the food is basically homecooked style Soutern foods like turnips, cabbage, green beans, ham, fried chicken. Etc. There's one bathroom. It is spick and span! It's old school with a deep hand washing sink and their cleaning supplies in it, but nice for a small place. The entire staff exude Southern charm and the experience is great! I would have given five stars, but they gave me a can of diet coke, and the waitress stomped a small cockroach at the table next to us. The entire place is clean,so I'm sure it came in through the open screened front door, but it was a little unsettling. If you truly are looking for a buffet with old Southern style cooking and an authentic old world farmhouse feel, you can't go wrong here. Especially with such great service!

Delicious, mouth watering home cookin'! Just passing through town and happened upon this local charmer. Everything freshly made, and the all you can eat buffet had me going back for seconds and then some. Best fried chicken, EVER! Staff and atmosphere genuinely friendly and engaging. Felt like I just spent time with family when I left.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted and offered drink choices. Then they offered either a buffet or menu. We chose the buffet and definitely were not disappointed! Fried chicken, Sheppard's pie, Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and much more! A whole lotta homestyle cooking! The food tasted excellent, great flavor, not overcooked, and not cold like some buffets. We came in closer to closing time and they did not turn us away! Y'all need to sneak in over here and get you some real home cooking!
